Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 357 Schenectady, New York Chartered 1920
Honoring our Past while Looking to the Future Serving America and her Veterans for over 90 years

VFW Purpose
Our membership consists of veterans who have sailed, flown or marched into harm's way in defense of America. Some of us are still on active duty and some are active civilians. We feel the same spirit of duty to our country within our local communities as we did overseas. Our Post currently sponsors Boy Scout Troop 357. We open the doors of our building for the Mont Pleasant citizens coalition, we open our doors for the Schenectady Board of Elections and we open our financial support of various community and veteran's organizations too numerous to mention. We attempt to reach out to the people who compose the fabric of our community and nation and help in any way we can. Our Service Officer keeps abreast of governmental announcements which affect the benefit status of our veterans. We visit our comrades at the VA hospital. We remain active in the political and religious institutions within our community. It is our desire to honor the memory and sacrifices of our comrades who fell in defense of our country. We who have returned are charged to make it a better place in their stead. This is why we are here, this is what we try to do, so help us God.
